In a house in the Oakland hills, Joan Diamond contemplates her new life, one where she can set her own pace.
“I want to practice living slower on the planet,” she said.
Diamond, 66, is retiring after more than 40 years as an educator, the past 14 years spent as principal at San Ramon’s innovative independent study school, Venture.
